Edible campers

Christmas colours

Haven't been able to blog for a while... lots of reasons... not least the dearth of campers out there! I know, I know, it's December and people usually bring out their campers when the sun starts to peek out (or at least tries to) in the spring.

I really kept my eyes open this last week, scouring the Cardiff roads (and thereabouts) for campers. Et voila! I was rewarded with two white campers!! That's right. White.

What a picture

I've just spent a couple of days in Pembrokeshire and was gearing myself up for a feast of camper van spotting. Was surprised to spot only the three - and one of them had a German numberplate. I suppose I shoulnd't have been that surprised for a number of reasons:
1. It was a Monday
2. It was a Monday in November
3. It was a Monday in November and the weather wasn't great

To give you some eye candy, take a butchers at this: my framed VW postcards. The bottom one isn't that important (it's a Beetle). Nice, though.

Thought I'd share another pic with you - my groovy camper van 'love' phone. It looks huge in the picture, but it's actually only rather bigger than a standard phone receiver. A bit bulkier, yes, but no heavier.

I have another knick-knack to add to my treasure trove.. a metal keyring! I have more baubles on my key ring than I have keys, they clank when I'm driving, but they're fun!

Spotted TWO camper vans the other day - a lovely red one and a rather battered orange one. Red, orange and green seem to be the most popular colours of the type I like.

A comment from reader June says they're hard to maintain... and I don't doubt it! The fact is I've never even sat in one let alone driven one!

It's funny, this camper van 'thing' I've got going at the moment. I don't know where it's come from but it started about four months ago. I know I can't afford one (yet) but just spotting them on the road makes me happy. My kids can't understand it and neither can I. But the VW ones are just so lovely....

So far, I've manged to get together an assortment of knick-knacks. Some bought from shops as and when spotted, others pressies from a loved one who should know better.

So far I've got:

Eight toy camper vans of various sizes

A jigsaw (a quid, a bargain!)

A money-box

A sweetie packet

A fridge magnet

AND my pride and joy:

A camper van fully-functional phone!
